We Will Never Forget You Amanda

Last month we heard the devastating news that one of the most incredible women I have ever met had passed away. We call her our Mamma Amanda as she was like our 2nd mother. (Pictured above on the left with Gianluca and my mum)
From the moment I met her she instantly reminded me of my mum. They literally could pass as sisters. She welcomed me into the family, I could not speak Italian and she couldn’t speak English but her warmth, kindness and love shone through. I loved my visits to Rome where she would cook Italian feasts for me! Such an amazing cook!
Then when I had my spinal cord injury she got on a plane without speaking any English and came to my bedside, then came regularly to see me, giving me cuddles and kisses, doing my make-up and hair and supporting my mum and brothers.
This I will never forget for the rest of my life.

God bless our Mamma Amanda. We will never forget you and you will be forever in our hearts.

Gianluca and Alessandra (Amanda’s children) made the decision that instead of having flowers at the funeral that they wanted everyone to make donations on behalf of the Cure Girls to Spinal Research. Nearly €700 was raised and I was and still am completely speechless for what they have done, the most incredible gesture they could have ever made.

I am so, so grateful to you Gianluca, Alessandra and to all your wonderful family for thinking of me and what you have done. Words just can’t express… love you all very much.

Lolly ♥️
